Winter means culling time for me and I am trying to speed it up. Download FastRawViewer 2.0.6 Build 1971 / 1.7.8 Build 1745 - View your RAW files with ease by using this efficient image viewer that offers detailed exif information, batch processing and support. ViewNX - Allows rating but runs like a dog. Microsoft Picture Viewer - Fast but no rating. Lightroom is running a bit slow for me so I have been using FastStone Image Viewer for culling and it is working fast to zip through the files. My goal is to be able to preview the images off the memory card on my laptop and tag the keepers so when I import into Lightroom it brings the info with them. I have it set so a single stoke of the delete key and the non-keeper image is gone to the recycle bin while viewing the images. A neat feature is that with a click and hold, it zooms in to 100% for checking sharpness and focus. I was wondering if anyone is using Fast Raw Viewer however because it appears to have a good raw histogram, and how you like it. Advanced image viewing software with some editing functionality, EXIF support and fast slideshow generation. FastStone is free, but Fast Raw Viewer is only $20, which is pretty darn cheap if it has a good raw histogram that is accurate. Free and open source image viewing software download, reviewed by Tina de Pierre. For PNG files, EXIF display is guaranteed only in Single File View Mode. Transparency and background color are not fully supported. PNG files FastRawViewer supports 8/16 bit PNG files, both RGB and monochrome. Also it has focus peaking that shows the in focus areas I think. Theres no faster workflow for dealing with an event and getting to high quality jpegs from original RAW. Need thumbnail images on Windows File Explorer for PSD and FastRawViewer files - posted in Windows 10 Support: I am using FastRawViewer on Windows 10 (latest update) to cull my RAW images. FastRawViewer supports the following types of JPEG files: 8-bit, both RGB and monochrome. The only issue I am having with FastStone is that it does not automatically rotate my vertical compositions. ![]() Hopefully I can change my in-camera setting to rotate them and that will tag the raw file in the viewers. ![]() With a decent viewer I am no longer shooting raw + jpegs. It is fun to finally be deleting all those jpegs that just sat there except for occasional viewing with a windows viewer.Īnother slick thing I am enjoying with FastStone is that with a left click and hold, it zooms in to 100% view right on the spot where you put the cursor instantly. Most software and in-camera histograms are representative of the jpeg readout, not raw unfortunately.
